I have an icecream maker and I want to make some different flavors other than the normal chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. I want something unusual.
I was wondering if someone knew any with alcohol , or just off the wall odd flavors, tropical or fruity?

anything really. have you thought of sorbet. fruit, lavender, or even lemon grass. it is only simple syrup and flavoring. you could make coffee ice cream espresso

Strawberry—Banana—Coconut—Vanilla
AND Cinnamon Ice Cream! ❤

* I n g r e d i e n t s *
— 3 Thai Young Coconuts (1 Coconut Water only + 3 Coconut Meats)
— 6-10 Organic Strawberries, with green stems torn off
— 4 Organic Bananas, broken by hand into smaller pieces
— 2 Organic Whole Vanilla Beans*, broken by hand into smaller pieces
— 1-2 teaspoons Organic Saigon Cinnamon*, to taste (regular organic cinnamon or regular inorganic cinnamon is fine too)

* P r e p a r a t i o n *
— 1) Open the young coconuts ~ watch this video if you need help: http://bit.ly/u9Q4j

— 2) Pour ONE coconut water into your Vita-Mix blender, or other high-powered blender of your choice http://bit.ly/X81Uu

— 3) Pour out the other TWO coconut waters into glasses to drink right away, or pour into an airtight container and store in your fridge for enjoyment later.

— 4) Scoop the THREE coconut meats out of the young coconuts, and toss into your blender.

— 5) Add the strawberries, bananas, vanilla beans and cinnamon, and blend until desired consistency is reached. OPTIONAL: Drop a few large chunks of banana and/or strawberries into your mixture before freezing!

— 6) Pour into an airtight container, seal it, and place in your freezer for a few hours to have a thick pudding consistency, or at least overnight to 'turn into' ice cream.

Ice cream recipes?

What are some good recipes for ice cream?
What can I make with ice cream?

3 cups half-and-half
1 cup heavy cream
8 large egg yolks
9 ounces vanilla sugar
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Place the half-and-half and the heavy cream into a medium saucepan, over medium heat. Bring the mixture just to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and remove from the heat.
In a medium mixing bowl whisk the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the sugar and whisk to combine. Temper the cream mixture into the eggs and sugar by gradually adding small amounts, until about a third of the cream mixture has been added. Pour in the remainder and return the entire mixture to the saucepan and place over low heat. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon and reaches 170 to 175 degrees F. Pour the mixture into a container and allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract. Place the mixture into the refrigerator and once it is cool enough not to form condensation on the lid, cover and store for 4 to 8 hours or until the temperature reaches 40 degrees F or below.

Pour into an ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer's directions. This should take approximately 25 to 35 minutes. Serve as is for soft serve or freeze for another 3 to 4 hours to allow the ice cream to harden
it seems alot with the eggs but trust me true ice cream is made with them.
Then you can add chocolate cookie chips or chocolate mints anything you like!

Pumpkin Ice Cream Recipe

2 Pumpkin Ice Cream RecipeHow to make Pumpkin Ice Cream. Making your own ice cream is always fun and this pumpkin ice cream is perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of light cream
6 eggs, yolks only
3/4 cup of sugar
1/2 tsp of vanilla
3/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
1 1/2 cups of canned pumpkin

Instructions
1. Before you get started, freeze the freezer bowl for at least 1 hour. For best results, do this the night before.
2. In a heavy saucepan, scald the light cream.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk the yolks with the sugar and vanilla.
4. Gradually whisk in the cream.
5. Add the pumpkin pie spice into the yolk, sugar, and vanilla mixture.
6. Stir over medium heat for about 10 minutes, but do not boil.
7. Now whisk in the heavy cream and canned pumpkin meat.
8. Pass the mixture through a coarse strainer into a bowl to remove any cooked egg pieces.
9. Refrigerate until well chilled.
10. Now add the freezer bowl and dasher to the mixer and turn to speed 1. Pour in the chilled mixture and churn for about 15-20 minutes

I google it, but thier was many recipes and i was confused... what recipes should i choose to make a the homemade ice-cream?

Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia

1/4 cup shaved semi-sweet chocolate bars
1/4 cup fresh Bing cherries, halved and pitted (you may
use canned cherries, but be sure to drain the syrup)
2 large eggs
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups heavy or whipping cream
1 cup milk

1. Place the shaved chocolate flakes and the cherries in
separate bowls. Cover and refrigerate.

2. Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, 1
to 2 minutes. Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time, then
continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute
more. Pour in the cream and milk and whisk to blend.

3. Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze
following the manufacturer’s instructions.

4. After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is
done), add the chocolate and the cherries, then continue
freezing until the ice cream is ready.

Ben & Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch Ice Cream

4 Heath Bars
2 Cup Heavy or whipping cream
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup Whole milk
3/4 Cup Sugar
2 Teaspoon Vanilla

Using a sharp knife, cut the candy bars into 1/2 to 1 inch chunks. You
should have about 1 cup. Place the chucks in a bowl, cover and freeze.

Whisk the egg in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Whisk in
the sugar, a little at a time, then continue to whisk until completely
blended, about 1 minute more. Pour in the cream, milk, vanilla, and whisk to
blend. Transfer the mixture to ice cream maker and freeze following
manufacturer's instructions.

After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is done) add the
candy, then continue freezing until the ice cream is ready.

Variation: COFFEE HEATH BAR CRUNCH:
Omit vanilla and substitute 3T good quality freeze-dried coffee. Add 2 T
coffee with the cream and milk, and add the remaining 1 T coffee with the
candy. (after the ice cream stiffens).

Ben & Jerry's NY Super Fudge Chunk

1/4 cup White chocolate; chop coarse
1/4 cup Semisweet chocoate; chop
1/4 cup Pecan halves; chopped
1/4 cup Walnuts; chop coarse
1/4 cup Chocolate covered almonds; cut in half
4 oz Unsweetened chocolate
1 cup Milk
2 Large Eggs
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Heavy or whipping cream
1 teas Vanilla extract
1/2 teas Salt

Combine the coarsely chopped chocolate, pecans, walnuts and chocolate
covered almonds in a bowl, cover and refrigerate. Melt the unsweetened
chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot, not boiling water.
Whisk in the milk, a little at a time, and heat, stirring constantly,
until smooth. Remove from the heat and let cool. Whisk the eggs in a mixing
bowl until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Whisk in the sugar, a little at a
time, then continue whisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more.
Add the cream, vanilla and salt and whisk to blend. Pour the chocolate
mixture into the cream mixture and blend. Cover and refrigerate until cold,
about 1-3 hours, depending on your refrigerator. Transfer the cream mixture
to an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's instructions.
After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 minutes before it is done), add the
chocolate and nuts, then continue freezing until the ice cream is ready.
Makes one Quart.

no soy please, i hate soy. and i don't have an ice cream maker, is there another way to make it without one?
i'm not highly lactose intolerant, i am but i used to eat it anyways. i'm vegan. and i'd prefer to make my own so i know exactly whats in it

Buy Breyer's Lactose Free Natural Vanilla ice cream - no one can tell the difference! Also, most lactose-intolerant people CAN eat yogurt, so you can buy frozen yogurt. Ben & Jerry's makes some of the same flavors as their regular ice cream. And, of course, sorbet doesn't have any dairy (however, sherbet does have dairy)
