Oh...poor hubby. Maybe he should help when the baby is screaming so you get a break. Maybe you should stop screaming at the baby and try to figure out why it's screaming. How old are you that you would scream at an infant? C'mon. If neighbors are coming over you have a problem, and it's anger management. When the baby won't stop and you get frustrated...take a moment to walk away and count to 20. Deep breaths and calm down. Babies pick up on your vibes and your husband's vibes. If you are tense and feel like screaming, you are gonna rub off on your child. I would also call your doctor. Perhaps there is something medically wrong with your child.
References :
How old are you? You sound very immature a calm cool loving mother would play and interact with the baby not scream. Is the baby dry , feed, happy, clean. Take the baby out for a walk. Is the baby tired? What are you feeding the baby perhaps it is giving the baby gas. That is why it screams . Call your pediatrician ask why the baby screams a lot they are there to help you. I am a Mom of 4 grown children. And a Grand mom.
References :
My 5 month old screams and screams from 10am to 2pm. Why? Because he can. He takes little breaks to laugh or play but the rest of the time he is crying. I cosleep, I wear him in a sling, I walk with him. I have tried it all. If the baby doesn't want to stop screaming then baby won't. Your household will just have to suffer together because nothing makes it better. It can be VERY fustrating and emotional. You and your husband can take breaks, go out by yourself while the other takes a turn watching baby.
References :
Oh dear! LOL actually ice cream sounds good right now;)

When our daughter was that age she was figuring out the power in the screaming. It is a normal stage... it's hard to not scream back. Sounds like you could use a break. If your hubby is available maybe it could be his time with the baby while you take a walk or something to get over the frustration of the day. Often when we took her out of the house (a public park would allow your son to yell his lungs out in a positive way) that would help.
Getting out of the house, and distraction was the key for us. Never let him have what he wants when he screams so that he can learn how to ask nicely. Its hard when you become so frustrated and want to scream back. If you reach that point and are home alone with him put him in his room, bed or crib and walk away so that you can keep your cool.
It's okay, this is what I was told to do by doctors and child psychologists. I also have a wonderful resource that I have used many times. Focus on the Family has trained counselors that will set up a time to help you over the phone. Been there hun, we have a strong willed child.

In our case if I scream back or get angry it only fuels the fire.
In the meantime try the walking away thing so that you can gather yourself and try to get your husband more engaged (if he's not).

Blessings :)
References :
I'm sure that you have already made sure there is nothing wrong like a fever or any indications of sickness but I agree with the above poster could be teething as well. Here is the number for Focus on the Family: 1 800-232-6459 They rock let me tell ya !
Good luck and blessings

I would take him/her to the doctor first of all. Maybe he/she has an ear infection or something. Maybe he's teething. He might just need some ibuprophen for his teeth. All babies cry but screaming is a different issue. You should NOT be screaming at a baby though. That will do more damage than good. The baby is looking to you to fix his/her problems and feel secure. You screaming is not meeting those needs. Try classical music, a soothing bath or a walk around the neighborhood. Those were my son's favorites.

When your baby starts screaming/crying try giving him/her a bath. I have a 7 month old too and sometimes if he is just crabby and is crying a lot I will give him a relaxing bath, a bottle, and then he will usually go to sleep after that.

If he isn't tired then maybe the bath will be fun for him-or just playing in a baby pool if its nice outside. Best of luck.
